Ever wonder how brides get those Pinterest perfect getting ready photos? Here’s how!

  • I will show up 45 minutes to an hour before you get your dress on. I suggest that everyone has their hair and makeup done upon my arrival. I’ll be capturing details at this time and you with your girls before everyone gets dressed! Pop some champagne + relax!
  • Get the cute robes! Keeping them on the simple side is best. The bright, floral robes aren’t ideal for photographs. Neutral tones ARE in! Having your girls wear robes (at least for photos sake) avoids photos with everyone in random clothing.
  • Pick a getting ready location that is light + airy. Think big windows! Your standard hotel room doesn’t always cut it and often, isn’t big enough, unless you invested in a suite. You might need to look for an Airbnb! Avoid basements, church bridal suites, and sometimes even your venue bridal suite.
  • Designate a spot at your getting ready location as a “clean spot” that we will use for a majority of the photos. Usually an area with a bed or couch will suffice. Make sure no clothes, suitcases, or trash is in the background! Tidy up the entire location prior to my arrival. You don’t want empty beverage bottles or messy suitcases in the background.
  • Buy the cute hanger for your dress + each of the bridesmaid’s dresses. You don’t have to spend tons–even plain wooden hangers from Amazon will do!
  • Get a details box together + read this blog post on what you need in that details box!
  • Soon after details are captured and we get some photos with you + your girls hanging out, I’ll have everyone but the bride get dressed.
  • We’ll then get the bride dressed + do a reveal with your girls!
