Invest in your memories

The Investment

My sessions are designed to include both smiling faces and candid moments. My goal for your experience with me is to be relaxed and easy from the moment you inquire, to styling your outfits, to picking your location, and to receiving your images. Every session includes my time, talent, edited digital images, and a print release through a private online gallery. Travel fees may apply to sessions 30 minutes outside of zip code 48049. The studio is located in my home in Clyde Township, MI 48049. A non-refundable retainer may be required due to secure your booking.

Three month sessions are often very simple. Your baby is likely beginning to smile, make better eye contact, and maybe lift their heads during tummy time. For three month sessions, baby is primarily lying on their back, lying on their tummy, or propped up. These sessions are best done in studio!

Sitter sessions are my personal favorite! These sessions are done when baby is around 6-9 months and/or when baby is able to sit up completely unassisted. I do not recommend doing a traditional “6 month” session unless your baby is able to sit unassisted at that time. Around 6-9 months, their personality is really starting to show and this is so much fun to capture! If your baby is not yet sitting, your session is going to be very similar to your 3 month session. Sitter sessions are great in studio or outdoors!

One year sessions are the ultimate milestone! These are great in studio or outdoors. For my one year sessions, I prefer to say goodbye to the balloons/cake smashes and hello to simple and timeless. A common thing is to do a cake smash session and I always forewarn parents that not all babies dig into their cakes and that your hopes and expectations may be let down. You might be upset to find your one year old not smashing into the cake and rather fussy about their messy/sticky hands or not knowing what to think about the new flavor/texture.  While I have had babies dig in and LOVE it, I’ve had many babies actually avoid the cake or needing to be heavily persuaded to even try it. Another common idea is to get balloons, like the huge #1 balloon. While this is a great idea, keep in mind that if you’re doing your session outdoors and there is any type of wind, the balloon could blow in all directions and not hold still for the photo you desire. There are lots of other great options for one year sessions. I have tons of props and outfits in studio for a simple and timeless session.

For any milestone session I recommend neutral outfits and bringing their favorite things! Wooden toys especially photograph well.
